Retrofit Mounting Plate Installation

The retrofit mounting plate will be supplied by M3 Innovation and delivered to the site with the rest of the materials. The plate will be installed using 1 inch stainless steel banding that can be provided by the installer or chosen to be delivered with the rest of materials.

Positioning the plate:

Use the aiming guide pictured below and also supplied in the install print.

Rotation/ Horizontal Aiming

  1. Identify the rotation angle for the pole, outlined in the provided install print.
  2. Use a compass (most phones have one) to measure out the correct rotation and angle.
  3. Ensure that the mounting plate is level with the ground by using a level.

Installing the plate:

  1. Once the plate is correctly positioned, use nylon straps to temporarily secure the mounting plate to the pole. Thread the straps through the top holes of the mounting bracket.
  2. Measure and cut the correct length of banding. A good method is to wrap the banding completely around the pole and leave some extra length for it to go through the bracket. The measurement doesn't need to be exact, as it is better to have some overhang.
  3. Pass the banding through the bottom slits of the mounting plate and encircle it around the pole. Ensure to follow the specific instructions provided with the banding gun to properly secure the banding in place around the pole.
  4. Remove the strap around the top of the mounting plate and repeat steps 2 and 3.

NOTE: The provided sealing endcaps stay in place during installation and should only be removed when connecting the MAKO module.

MAKO Mount Installation

  1. Position the mount with the four holes lining up with the holes on the plate, ensuring that the mount is oriented correctly.
  2. Secure the mount at all four points using galvanized bolts, nuts, and lock washers, torqued to 35-40 ft-lbs each.
