Installation

The installation of spines is best carried out by two individuals.

  1. Measure and trim the appropriate length of banding for both the upper and lower sections of the spine. A good method is to wrap the banding completely around the pole and leave some extra length for it to go through the slits of the spine. The measurement doesn't need to be exact, as it is better to have some overhang.
  2. Thread the two strips of banding through the top and bottom slits of the spine.
  3. Place the spine in its desired position on the pole. We recommend that all spines should be places 10 feet or more above the ground.
  4. Use a level to ensure that the spine is vertical.
  5. Start by securing the top banding strip. Attach a banding clip to one end of the band, then thread the opposite end through the clip, pulling the extra banding tight around the pole.
  6. Insert the excess banding into a banding gun and use the gun to tighten the strip around the pole.
  7. Once completely tightened bend the gun back and cut the excess banding
  8. Use a hammer to make the small amount of banding at the clip lay flat.
  9. Repeat steps 5-8 for the bottom banding strip.
