Installing MAKO Modules

The MAKO system has been engineered for a seamless installation process, but it is crucial to follow all instructions carefully, including the provided installation print.

  1. Remove the two sealing end caps from the MAKO mount
  2. Start with installing the modules at positions B and C. See the Labeling Guide to confirm these positions. Consult the install print to insert the correct light into the correct position of the MAKO mount. Install one light at a time and complete steps 2 and 3 before installing the other light.
  3. Tilt/Vertical Aiming
    1. Identify tilt angle outlined in the provided install print.
    2. Start with the face of the light completely face down and level with the ground.
    3. Use an electronic level (most smartphones have one) and place it flush against the face of the light, as shown in Image 1. Adjust the light up or down to the specified angle. Positive angles tilt the light up, while negative angles tilt it down, as illustrated in Image 2. NOTE: Do not rely on the positive or negative angle notation on your level, as it may not match our specifications.
  4. DO NOT tighten set screws at the module connection points.
  5. Attach a clamp at the connection point between the module and the MAKO mount. Secure the clamp by closing the bolt around its opening and tightening the nut. The nut and bolt should be torqued to 18 ft-lbs.
  6. Install the modules at position A and D. Consult the install print to insert the module into the correct position.
  7. Positioning
    1. Tilt the module until the white line at its end aligns with the white line on the connected module. This ensures the correct tilt without needing to remeasure with a level.
  8. Attach a blue clamp at the connection point between the two modules. Secure the clamp by closing the bolt around its opening and tightening the nut.
  9. Install provided endcaps at all exposed module ends. Tighten the three set screws that secure each endcap.

NOTE: To protect the modules from dirt, sunlight, and other natural elements, it is recommended to keep them in their boxes until just before installation.
